About onboard and terminal Wi-Fi

Onboard Wi-Fi is provided through terrestrial signals, so there are limits to the communication capacity, and the signal may be unstable depending on the sailing area. Terminal Wi-Fi is provided via 5G. Wi-Fi is offered as part of our service and does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed.

Onboard and terrestrial Wi-Fi is not high-speed.

Important usage notes

  • Onboard Wi-Fi is provided free of charge as part of the service for passengers. It does not guarantee your internet connectivity or speed.
  • Onboard Wi-Fi is provided through signals from land and has limited communication capacity.
  • Compared to Wi-Fi used on land, the signal is unstable and the speed is not high.
  • It may be difficult to connect when many customers are connected at the same time or in areas with poor terrestrial signal conditions.
  • We cannot take any responsibility for connection issues or troubles.

Once connected, the connection count starts at one, and the countdown for connection time begins automatically. If you disconnect your smartphone during this time, the countdown will not stop. If you exceed 30 minutes, it will count as one connection, consuming that 30 minutes. If you reconnect within the 30-minute window, it will still count as one connection, not two.

  • The count for time and frequency resets at midnight. If you board the same ship for a day trip after disembarking, you cannot connect until midnight as the count has not reset. However, if you board a different ship (e.g., disembarking at Izumi-Otsu and boarding in Kobe), you can use it. We appreciate your understanding of the device specifications.

In bad weather, communication speeds may decrease. Wi-Fi service is provided as part of our service and does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed.
