Fire safety measures on board except in the smoking room
Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited outside of designated smoking rooms. The use of fire inside the ship, excluding tobacco (including e-cigarettes) in smoking rooms, is also prohibited. Smoking outside these areas is a serious fire hazard. For the safety of navigation and maintenance of order, we ask for your understanding and cooperation.
Additionally, if smoking or bringing in cigarette butts or ashes to prohibited areas is confirmed, a cleaning fee (deodorization) of 20,000 yen (excluding tax), along with the accommodation fee and facility usage fees for the inoperative period, will be charged.
Matches, lighters, candles, portable gas stoves, gas canisters, and any fire source are prohibited in all areas except for the smoking room, including cabins, public spaces, and parking areas.
*Prohibition of actions that may endanger passenger safety under Article 23-2 of the Maritime Transport Act
Smoking in areas where it is prohibited (as per Article 23-14 of the Maritime Transport Act Enforcement Regulations) is banned under Article 23-2 of the Maritime Transport Act. Violating this regulation may result in a fine of up to 300,000 yen (as per Article 53 of the same law).
Carrying fuel containing gasoline or diesel
You are not allowed to bring dangerous items such as fuel cans containing gasoline or diesel and gas canisters on board.
We do not allow dangerous goods that are prohibited for passenger transport and storage to be brought inside the ship, whether they are loaded in vehicles or as carry-on luggage.
To customers bringing firearms or swords
You are not permitted to bring firearms or swords on board.
In cases where firearms such as shotguns or air guns are discovered, we may terminate the transport contract as per our transport terms and conditions.
To customers boarding with bicycles (regarding baggage fares/special baggage fares)
Bicycles that cannot be folded and have a total length of over 2 meters, as well as those that cannot be folded, will incur special baggage fares for bicycles.
To customers boarding with passenger cars
You will need to present your vehicle registration certificate for vehicle boarding, so please remember to bring it on the day.
However, customers who are ‘fNet members’ and have completed vehicle registration do not need to present it.

If a vehicle’s length exceeds the registered length due to loading or towing, the actual measured length will be charged for transportation fees.
For vehicles with low ground clearance
If boarding with a vehicle with low ground clearance, special procedures are required, so please arrive at least 60 minutes before departure and inform the port staff.
Regardless of whether a vehicle with low ground clearance has a valid inspection, there is a risk of the bottom of the bumper or vehicle making contact while boarding or inside the ship. In such cases, we are not responsible for any damage to the vehicle.
Additionally, if any damage to our facilities occurs due to oil leaks, we may charge for repair costs.
*If the ground clearance is extremely low, we may refuse boarding at our discretion.
To drivers
For safety, please adhere to the following items.
- (1) After boarding, ensure to turn off the engine switch and engage the handbrake.
- (2) Except in special cases, please do not remain on the vehicle deck. Unauthorized access to the vehicle deck during the voyage is prohibited.
- (3) Follow crew instructions for operating the vehicle inside the ship.
- (4) Smoking is prohibited on the vehicle deck.
- (5) Do not start the vehicle engine until the ship has completely docked and the crew indicates it is safe to do so.
- (6) For safety regarding life, cargo, and the vessel, dangerous items being carried will be taken charge of by the staff only during the voyage.
To customers boarding with electric vehicles

Regarding the use of electric vehicle charging facilities【Available ships: Izumi, Hibiki, Settsu, Yamato】
- Please reserve in advance via phone or the internet (check the box for charging plug requests) as the number of charging stations is limited.
- Please complete the procedure at the boarding port desk at least one hour before boarding.
- The power outlet shape is 200V only.
*100V types are not available. - Please be sure to bring your charging cable.
- Charging method is limited to normal charging only.
*Electric vehicle charging facilities are installed in the 5th-floor passenger car parking. Please note that vehicles with high clearance (height limitation 2.1m) and very low ground vehicles may not be available for use.

About the opening of vehicle parking doors
The doors to the vehicle parking area will be opened after docking based on the captain’s instructions.
For safety reasons, immediate disembarkation is not possible, so we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
To customers who need assistance
Our staff and crew cannot assist with meals, restrooms, or bathing; therefore, customers who need assistance are requested to be accompanied by a companion.
Moreover, we cannot provide continuous support to specific customers, so we appreciate your understanding. Please contact the reservation center in advance for the following customers.
- Customers boarding alone who will use a wheelchair (customers requesting assistance for boarding and disembarking)
- Customers using stretchers.
- Customers using oxygen tanks or other medical devices. *You must fill out a disclaimer before boarding.
- Customers with other health conditions. (Please remember to carry necessary medications.) *You may need to provide a medical certificate or proof of condition.
*Our ferry routes involve long voyages, so unexpected situations may arise. There are no doctors or nurses on board, and for boarding, even if a reservation is accepted, safety will be the top priority. If the captain determines that your safety cannot be guaranteed due to weather or sea conditions, you may be denied boarding.
To customers who are ill or injured
*If you fall under any of the following, we kindly ask you to submit a medical certificate.
- Passengers with category 1, 2 infectious diseases, novel influenza infections or specified infectious diseases as per the Infectious Disease Control Act cannot board.
*Refer to the transport conditions (Section 2, Article 3-2 regarding passenger transport) - Persons who fall under the attendance suspension period established by the School Health Safety Act

Individuals falling within the attendance suspension period as specified by the School Health Safety Act are unsuitable for boarding, but if a doctor certifies that there is no risk of infection, this may not apply.

- Severely ill passengers without a companion
- Individuals whose lives are put at risk, or health is significantly impaired due to age, health conditions, or other reasons

To customers boarding with service dogs
Customers with visual, auditory, or mobility impairments who wish to bring assistance dogs (guide dogs, hearing assistance dogs, service dogs) on board the ship can do so at no charge.
*Upon boarding, please inform the staff that you are accompanying a service dog. We will check for the harness (white or yellow guide dog harness) indicating ‘service dog’ or ‘hearing assistance dog’, and the certification for the assistance dog.
To customers who are hearing impaired
In emergencies, staff will bring keys, notebooks, pens, and evacuation guidance plates to your room to assist with evacuating using the key provided.
To customers who are pregnant
Please inform us at the time of booking.
Our ferry routes involve long voyages, and unexpected situations may arise. As there are no doctors or nurses on board, for your safety, we do not allow customers who are 8 months pregnant (28 weeks pregnant) to board.
Even if reservations are accepted, if the captain determines that your safety cannot be assured due to weather or sea conditions, you may be denied boarding.
*A mother and child health handbook needs to be presented during the boarding process.
To customers utilizing the ladies’ room
Please make a reservation in advance if you wish to use it. (If making a reservation online, please enter the number of passengers in the ladies’ room in the reservation form.) This room is exclusively for female customers, so if you are bringing a child, male elementary school students cannot use it. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of male customers aged elementary school and above.
Please note that the equipped room types may vary depending on the ferry you are using, so please check before use.
Regarding the use of the large observation bath
- We strictly prohibit customers who are extremely intoxicated from bathing.
Additionally, customers with tattoos or body art are asked to be mindful of other customers during their use. - Neither boys nor girls above elementary school age may bathe together.
- Cameras, mobile phones, and smartphones are strictly prohibited in the bathing area and changing rooms.
To customers bringing pets
Pets are only allowed in the pet room or pet-friendly room. If a pet is brought into an area outside of these, cleaning fees and bedding replacement costs will be charged. Please do not leave pets in cars as the vehicle parking areas can become very hot. Always use the pet room. Please also check the pet room usage fees and cage sizes.
Customers without a cage are asked to have their pets wear collars, muzzles, and leashes during boarding and disembarking. After disembarking, please hold onto the leash tightly and do not let go.
Customers are responsible for managing their pets (feeding, etc.). Cleaning and waste disposal during boarding and disembarking must be done by the customer. Also, the pet room will be locked from lights out until the pet guide office opens in the morning. If you need assistance, please check the operating hours of each ship’s guide office. There is no temperature control in the pet room (it is set to the same temperature as the passenger cabins).
We can accommodate dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and small birds.
However, we do not allow the following pets to board or use the pet room.
- Exotic pets (such as skunks, monkeys, tropical fish, reptiles, etc.)
- Dogs that have not received heartworm prevention and vaccinations (rabies, combination vaccine) within the last year
- Specific dog breeds [Tosa, Akita, Kishu, German Shepherd, Great Dane, Doberman, St. Bernard, Alaskan Malamute, Mastiff, American Staffordshire (American Pit Bull Terrier)]
- Pets that bark excessively, disturb other customers, cause fear, or do not follow the owner’s commands
- Pets that do not fit into our pet cages
- Pets that are in heat or pregnant
- Pets with infectious diseases or those not in good health
*Customers who do not make internet reservations must agree to the precautions and sign a waiver.
(Customers making internet reservations are considered to have accepted the ‘Terms of Use regarding Pet Boarding’ by checking the pet cage and With Pet usage regulations.)
Tomorrow, as the vehicle parking doors will open after docking, the passage to the 5th-floor vehicle parking area will be very congested. Please clean the pet room cage yourself and prepare to take your pet into its cage or have it wear a collar, muzzle, or leash, and wait in the 5th-floor lobby. Returning keys can be done at the guide office or with nearby staff. During busy times, your retrieval may be last, so please understand in advance.

We do not allow drivers to operate vehicles while under the influence of alcohol during boarding and disembarking.
